Has any experience ever made say to yourself, “I’m never doing that again”?
On a hiking trip in the Alps, we decided not to stick to the path and to head down to a small lake to spend the night and get some water. The next day, we had to carry on along the other side and climb back up to the path, but the hill was very steep and it started to feel like rock climbing only with a hiking backpack on my back. Since then, I’ve told myself that I’ll always stick to the paths when walking in the mountains.
